A presente invenção refere-se a um gabinete destinado a receber equipamentos e montagens elétricas e eletrónicas, particularmente um gabinete para telecomunicações, tendo painéis laterais, um painel traseiro, uma porta, uma base e uma cobertura, uma blindagem EMC sendo proporcionada para blindar o interior do gabinete contra ondas eletromagnéticas. O gabinete é caracterizado pelo fato de os painéis laterais, com a base e a tampa, formarem uma unidade de auto-sustentação.
