Abstract

"MATERIAIS GENéTICOS NOVOS PARA TRANSMISSãO EM MILHO". Foi provido um método para transferência de materiais genéticos novos em milho. O método para derivação destes novos genes é por plantas hibridas de cruzamento amplo produzido por cruzamento de dois parentes silvestres de milho, Eastern Gramagrass (tripsacum) e perenial teosine (zea diploperennis). Esta invenção, desta forma, relata os materiais genéticos novos em semente híbrida, a planta híbrida produzida pela semente e/ou cultura de tecido, variantes, mutantes, modificações, e componentes celulares e moleculares de tripsacum-perennial teosinte híbrido, e a semente híbrida, a planta híbrida produzida pela semente e/ou cultura de tecido, variantes, mutantes, modificações, e de componentes celulares e moleculares de (milho x tripsacum-perennial teosine) e/ou (tripsacum-perennial teosine x milho). Em particular esta invenção está dirigida para a habilidade de transferir seq³ências de nucleotídeo novamente e alelos do tripsacum para milho para uso em análises genéticas e seleção de genótipos novos com traços agronómicos melhorados tal como resistência a doenças e insetos, tolerância a seca, tolerância ao frio, tolerância a inundações, apomixis, totipotencia, perenialismo, bem como adaptações para condições adversas do solo e uma atmosfera enriquecida com dióxido de carbono através de hibridos (milho x tripsacum-perennial teosine)em programas de melhoramento de milho.
