Um processo para montar uma bucha em um elemento metálico que compreende fornecer um elemento metálico que forma uma abertura de acomodação de bucha no elemento metálico, a abertura definida por uma porção aresta anelar que circunda a abertura. A process for mounting a bushing on a metallic element which comprises providing a metallic element that forms a bushing accommodation opening in the metal element, the opening defined by an annular edge portion that surrounds the opening. A bushing is then forced through the opening in a bushing driving direction, such that the bushing engages the ring edge portion and deforms the ring edge portion in the bushing driving direction to form an annular flange portion in the metal element, which protrudes in the driving direction and engages an outer surface of the bushing in an interference fit relationship, in order to firmly retain the bushing inside the opening. Also disclosed is a set of metallic element and bushing, which can form part of a vehicle skeleton structure.
