"PROCESSO PARA A PREPARAçãO DE UMA PIRIDINA SUBSTITUìDA NA POSIçãO 2" A invenção refere-se a um processo de preparação de piridinas substituídas na posição 2 via troca metal halogênio, com sec-butil-lítio em 2-bromo-ou 2-iodo-piridinas opcionalmente substituídas. O resultante intermediário lítio-piridina é posto a reagir com um eletrófilo para proporcionar a desejada piridina substituída na posição 2. A substituição do n-butil-lítio por sec-butil-lítio em um tal processo resulta em rendimento e pureza realçados da desejada piridina substituída na posição 2.
