Composições de película-revestimento comestíveis são preparadas misturando um polímero formador de película com um plastificante e água para obter uma mistura polimérica extrudável contendo de 20 a 60 por cento de água, extrudar a mistura em tiras, secar e moer as tiras. As composições são de escoamento livre, sem poeira e prontamente dispersáveis em água fria, e são úteis em aplicações farmacêuticas, confeitarias e alimentos.
