Patente de Invenção: <B>''MéTODO E APARELHO CORRELACIONADOR''<D>. Um dispositivo correlacionador digital programável, e método de correlação associado, com uma estrutura muito eficiente. Segundo um aspecto, dois ou mais correlacionadores compartilham de um registrador de deslocamento de seq³ência de dados comum. Segundo um outro aspecto, o registrador de deslocamento de seq³ência de dados é constituído por módulos de memória de acesso aleatório (RAM) que permitem a construção eficaz em dispositivos lógicos de disposição de porta programável de campo (FPGA). Amostras de dados de complemento de dois são multiplicadas por uma seq³ência de referência para gerar produtos de complemento de dois inacabados, os produtos são somados com aritmética sem sinal num somador que contém contadores de população, e um fator de correção é adicionado após todos os outros cálculos estarem completos, para converter o resultado sem sinal de volta para um número de complemento de dois.
