Abstract

"USO DE TEXAFIRINA NA PREPARAçãO DE UM MEDICAMENTO PARA USO EM DIAGNóSTICO E TERAPIA OCULAR" é proporcionado o uso de texafirina para diagnóstico e terapia ocular, especialmente o uso de texafirina fotosensitiva para terapia fotodinâmica das condições do olho, caracterizadas por vasculatura anormal, tal como por exemplo, degeneração macular, ou pterígio. A texafirina fotosensitiva pode ser uma texafirina de base livre ou pode ser uma metalizada com um metal diamagnético. de preferência a texafirina fotosensitiva é metalizada com lutécio. Em virtude da dupla absorção de comprimento de onda das texafirinas, isto é, a 400 - 500 nm e a 700 - 800 nm, especialmente cerca de 732 nm, em comparação com as porfirinas, as texafirinas são mais eficientes e versáteis para uso em seres humanos em comparação às porfirinas. As texafirinas funcionam como agentes de contrastes efetivos na angiografia ocular.
