Abstract
SUPRESSãO DE DISPERSãO DE BRILLOUIN ESTIMULADA EM SISTEMA DE TRANSMISSãO óTICA. Um modulador ótico para um transmissor a laser de alta potência inclui uma fonte de laser acoplada através de um modulador de fase a um modulador de sinal. Uma fonte de ruído propicia um sinal de ruído de faixa limitada ou à fonte de laser ou ao modulador de fase ou a ambos. Alternativamente, um modulador ótico para um transmissor a laser de alta potência inclui uma fonte de laser propiciando um sinal ótico de saída de laser e um modulador de fase. Primeiro e segundo sinais de onda continua a respectiva primeira e segunda freq³ências são combinados para modular ou a fonte de laser ou o modulador de fase. A primeira freq³ência é diferente da segunda freq³ência. A modulação de laser e de fase produz um sinal de saída ótico ampliado tal que o sinal de saída ótico ampliado seja caracterizado por freq³ências de batimentos harmonicamente relacionados com as primeira e segunda freq³ências. A largura da faixa de freq³ência não inclui freq³ências de batimento significativos. Cada uma das freq³ências múltiplas de batimento produzidos tem uma amplitude correspondente reduzida, mas tem as mesma largura da linha de laser, aumentando portanto a potência que pode ser injetada na fibra antes do início da dispersão de Brillouim estimulada.
