Abstract
PROCESSO E SISTEMA PARA DETERMINAR A TOTALIDADE DE UM SINAL RECEBIDO. Um processo para determinar a totalidade de um sinal recebido em um ambiente de rastreamento de freq³ência de modo que uma determinação possa ser feita de se um Controle Automático de Freq³ência (AFC) possa ser utilizado. Diversas amostras da freq³ência são tomadas (205). Pelo menos uma estatística baseada nas amostras de freq³ência é calculada para uso na determinação de se um sinal recebido pode ser usado para funcionamento de AFC. Estas estatísticas podem incluir, por exemplo, a média, o desvio médio, o desvio padrão, e a variância da freq³ência medida. Um limite de sinal forte e um limite de sinal fraco são usados para determinar se o funcionamento de AFC deve ser anulado. Se a estatística calculada é menor do que o limite de sinal forte (210) então o funcionamento de AFC é possibilitado. Se a estatística calculada é também maior do que o limite do sinal fraco (220) então o funcionamento de AFC é anulado (225). Isto permite que o receptor continue o funcionamento de AFC até que o nível de sinal seja tão fraco a causar medições de freq³ência erróneas. Se a estatística calculada está entre o limite de sinal forte (210) e o limite de sinal fraco (220) então a força de sinal é testada (230). Se a força de sinal está abaixo de um valor mínimo então o funcionamento de AFC é possibilitado mas se a força do sinal está acima deste valor mínimo então o funcionamento de AFC está anulado porque um forte sinal interferente pode estar presente.
