Abstract

a presente invenção provê um tijolo de magnésia-carbono que não inclui grafite e tem excelentes resistências à fragmentação e à corrosão, e um método para a produção do tijolo de magnésia-carbono. o tijolo de magnésia-carbono de acordo com a presente invenção contém um total de 0,1 a 2,0% em massa de piche e/ou negro de fumo, total de 0,1 a 1,0% em massa de alumínio e/ou liga de alumínio, 3,0 a 10,0% em massa de magnésia tendo um diâmetro de partícula menor que 0,075 mm, e 87,0 a 96,0% em massa de magnésia tendo um diâmetro de partícula de 0,075 a 5 mm. a razão em massa de magnésia tendo um diâmetro de partícula de 1 a 5 mm com relação à magnésia tendo um diâmetro de partícula de 0,075 a 1 mm é de 1,66 a 2,34. quando um aglutinante orgânico é adicionado a uma mistura de matéria-prima refratária que não contém grafite, e a mistura resultante é amassada, moldada e aquecida de modo a obter o tijolo de magnésia-carbono, o tijolo de magnésia-carbono obtido tem uma porosidade aparente de 8,0% ou menos após ser aquecido por 3 horas sob atmosfera redutora a 1400°c.
