a presente invenção se refere a um método para produzir drimenol e/ou derivados de drimenol colocando-se pelo menos um polipeptídeo em contato com difosfato de farnesila. o método pode ser realizado in vitro ou in vivo. a presente invenção também fornece sequências de aminoácidos de polipeptídeos úteis no método da invenção e ácidos nucleicos que codificam os polipeptídeos da invenção. o método fornece, ainda, células hospedeiras ou organismos geneticamente modificados para expressar os polipeptídeos da invenção e úteis para produzir drimenol e/ou derivados de drimenol.
