colocar um substrato contendo CO em contato com o meio de fermentação; e fermentar o substrato contendo CO, para fornecer um pH ácido, o processo eficaz para a prevenção de precipitação de um ou mais elementos de metal de transição com um ou mais elementos não metal, e em que o meio de fermentação inclui cerca de 3âmM ou me- nos fosfato, em que o processo de fermentação é eficaz para a utilização de cerca de 2 galões americanos de água ou menos fornecidos ao meio de fermentação por galão americano de etanol produzido.2 - Processo Para Fermentar, de acordo com a Reivindicação 1, carac- terizado por que o elemento de metal de transição é selecionado do grupo consistindo em um ou mais de W, Zn, Co e Ni.3 - Processo Para Fermentar, de acordo com a Reivindicação 1, carac- terizado por que o elemento não metal é Se.4 - Processo Para Fermentar, de acordo com a Reivindicação 1, carac- terizado por que o meio de fermentação tem uma condutividade de cerca de 30 mS/cm ou menos. - Processo Para Fermentar, de acordo com a Reivindicação 1, carac- terizado por que o processo é eficaz para fornecer um STY de 10g de álcool total/(L:dia) ou mais. 6 - Processo Para Fermentar Substrato Contendo CO, caracterizado por que o processo compreende:fornecer o substrato contendo CO a um fermentador e con- tatar o substrato contendo CO com um meio de fermentação, o meio de fermentação fornecido por um processo que inclui a mistura de uma primeira solução que inclui um ou mais elementos selecionados do grupo consistindo em Zn, Co e Ni com uma segunda solução que inclui um ou mais elementos do grupo consistindo em W e Se em quantidades eficazes para fornecimento de um meio de fermentação tendo uma condutividade de cerca de 30 mS/cm ou menos, em que o meio de fermentação inclui cerca de 3mM ou menos de fosfato; e fermentar o substrato contendo CO,em que o processo é eficaz para fornecimento de um STY de g de álcool total/(Ldia) ou mais,em que o processo de fermentação é eficaz para a utilização de cerca de 2 galões americanos de água ou menos fornecidos ao meio de fermentação por galão de etanol produzido. 7 - Processo Para Fermentar Substrato Contendo CO, de acordo com a Reivindicação 6, caracterizado por que o meio de fermentação é fornecido com pelo menos um ou mais de cerca de 0,04 ug ou mais por minuto de Zn por grama de células,cerca de 0,018 ug ou mais por minuto de Co por grama de células,cerca de 0,02 ug ou mais por minuto de Ni por grama de cé- lulas,cerca de 0,29 ug ou mais por minuto de W por grama de cé- lulas, e cerca de 0,01 ug ou mais por minuto de Se por grama de células. 8 - Processo Para Fermentar Substrato Contendo CO, de acordo com a Reivindicação 6, caracterizado por que o meio de fermentação inclui menos do que cerca de 0,02 % por peso de NaHCO;. 9 - Processo Para Fermentar Substrato Contendo CO, de acordo com a Reivindicação 6, caracterizado por que o meio de fermentação é fornecido com pelo menos um ou mais de cerca de 0,044 ug ou mais de nitrogênio por grama de célu- las,cerca de 0,2 ug ou mais de fósforo por grama de células, ou cerca de 0,01 ug ou mais de potássio por grama de células. - Processo Para Fermentar Substrato Contendo CO, de acordo com a Reivindicação 6, caracterizado por que o álcool total inclui cerca de 75 por cento por peso ou mais de etanol. 11 - Processo Para Fermentar Substrato Contendo CO, de acordo com a Reivindicação 6, caracterizado por que o álcool total inclui cerca de 25 por cento em peso ou menos de butanol.12 - Processo Para Fermentar, de acordo com a Reivindicação 1 ou 6, caracterizado por que a fermentação é eficaz para o fornecimento de um pH de cerca de 4,2 a cerca de 4,8. 13 - Processo Para Fermentar, de acordo com a Reivindicação 1 ou 6, caracterizado por que a mistura de ao menos um elemento de metal de transição e ao menos um elemento não metal têm uma densidade ótica de cerca de 0,7 ou menos em 580 nm. 14 — Processo, de acordo com a Reivindicação 1 ou 6, caracterizado por que o substrato contendo CO fornecido ao fermentador possui uma razão molar CO/CO;, de cerca de 0.75 ou mais. - Processo, de acordo com a Reivindicação 1 ou 6, caracterizado por que o processo inclui a fermentação do substrato contendo CO com uma bactéria acetogênica selecionada do grupo consistindo em Aceto- genium kivui, Acetoanaerobium noterae, Acetobacterium woodii, Alkaliba- culum bacchi CP11 (ATCC BAA-1772), Blautia producta, Butyribacterium methuylotrophicum, Caldanaerobacter subterraneous, Caldanaerobacter subterraneous pacificus, Carboxydothermus hydrogenoformans, Clostri- dium aceticum, Clostridium acetobutylicum, Clostridium acetobutylicum P262 (DSM 19630 de DSMZ Alemanha), Clostridium autoethanogenum (DSM 19630 de DSMZ Alemanha), Clostridium autoethanogenum (DSM 10061 de DSMZ Alemanha), Clostridium autoethanogenum (DSM 23693 de DSMZ Alemanha), Clostridium autoethanogenum (DSM 24138 de DSMZ Alemanha), Clostridium carboxidivorans P7 (ATCC PTA-7827), Clostridium coskatii (ATCC PTA-10522), Clostridium drakei, Clostridium ljungdahlii PETC (ATCC 49587), Clostridium ljungdahlii ERI2 (ATCC 55380), Clostridium ljungdahlii C-O1 (ATCC 55988), Clostridium ljung- dahlii 0-52 (ATCC 55889), Clostridium magnum, Clostridium pasteuria- num (DSM 525 de DSMZ Alemanha), Clostridium ragsdali PI 1 (ATCC BAA-622), Clostridium scatologenes, Clostridium thermoaceticum, Clos- tridium ultunense, Desulfotomaculum kuznetsovii, Eubacterium limosum,Geobacter sulfurreducens, Methanosarcina acetivorans, Methanosarcina barkeri, Morrella thermoacetica, Morrella thermoautotrophica, Oxobacter pfennigii, Peptostreptococceus productus, Ruminococcus productus, Ther- moanaerobacter kivui e misturas das mesmas.
