Abstract

gaxeta compósita com baixa taxa de vazamento. a presente invenção refere-se a uma gaxeta (1) que compreende um primeiro componente distinto e um segundo componente distinto, que os componentes primeiro e segundo (20) estendem-se ao longo do comprimento da gaxeta (1). o segundo componente (20) é disposto em relação ao primeiro (10) de modo a separá-lo de pelo menos uma das duas superfícies de vedação (2, 4). o primeiro componente (10) é relativamente rígido ao menos na direção da espessura da gaxeta (1) e, de preferência, incompressível, ao passo que o segundo componente (20) é relativamente mole ao menos na direção da espessura da gaxeta (1) e compressível. quando a gaxeta é comprimida entre dois flanges (101, 102), forma-se uma região delimitada de alta compressão, pois o primeiro componente (10) aumenta a pressão à qual o segundo componente (20) é comprimido entre as superfícies dos flanges. dessa forma, a vedação apresenta uma estanqueidade contra vazamento elevada quando submetida a forças relativamente baixas.
