Abstract

"MéTODO E APARATO PARA MONITORAR O PROGRESSO DO TRABALHO DE PARTO". Descreve-se um método para monitorar o progresso do trabalho em uma mãe durante o nascimento, pelo uso de um sensor de posição para medir um ponto pré-determinado na mãe; para monitorar a locação do sensor de posição em um espaço tridimensional; e para monitorar a localização da parte de apresentação fetal com respeito ao ponto pré-determinado na mãe. O local da parte de apresentação fetal pode ser indicado por um sensor de posição similar, ou por visualização. Outras condições, tais como efaceamento, dilatação cervical, e posição cervical também podem ser monitoradas de maneira semelhante. Um ponto de referência ou de fixação pode ser provido ao sensor de posição, por exemplo, por meio do acoplamento de uma parte encaixante ou objeto conformado a um ou mais pontos no feto ou mãe.
