Abstract
Incinerator dryer grilles, with temperature control provided by a two-phase steam. Soaked bulky waste that enters an incinerator and sits on a grill before falling to the oven floor below. This process expels volatile hydrocarbons and leads to drying. The grill may also provide combustible air. The drying process causes the wet content of the waste to fall below 50 percent, where combustion may occur. Biphasic steam passes through separate channels in the grid for temperature control. Oxygen-containing gas emanating from the grate in the combustion chamber contains gaseous combustion products, or air or non-air flue gas, to use the heat of the former and the wet content. When flue gas contains chlorine, the temperature should fall with the addition of fresh air in a range between (400 <198> F and 750 <198> F). To avoid chlorine corrosion, boilers pushing the flue gas should be entirely away from the gas flow, or have only flue gas relied on the gas, then cooled to the above temperature range. For particulate or crushed scrap, a second unpaired grid under the first should be allowed to stand, long enough for the material to dry and volatile hydrocarbons to evaporate. A charger enters the incinerator to push the waste into the grate and limit its volume so that the grate gas can penetrate it.
