Abstract

"TONÈMETRO DE REALIMENTAçãO DE FORçA". A presente invenção refere-se a um aparelho e método para a medição de uma pressão intra-ocular (IOP) compreendendo um vibrador (13) que transmite uma energia vibracional para um globo ocular (12) através da pálpebra (1 1) e mede pelo menos uma dentre uma força ou uma resposta de fase no globo ocular. As medições são tomadas ao se colocar o tonómetro (10) contra a pálpebra de modo a induzir uma vibração no globo ocular subjacente. Um transdutor de força (16) acoplado ao vibrador mede a resposta do globo ocular a partir do qual uma impedância vibracional do olho é determinada. A pressão intra-ocular é em seguida calculada com base na impedância vibracional. Em um uso preferido do aparelho, o tonómetro é calibrado contra uma medição de pressão intra-ocular conhecida, que permite ao paciente fazer medições de pressão IOP relativas subseq³entes em casa ou de outra maneira fora de um consultório médico tradicional sem a necessidade de anestesia ou receio de infecção.
