Abstract

"MéTODOS PARA IDENTIFICAR ALTERAçõES EVOLUCIONARIAMENTE SIGNIFICANTES EM SEQüêNCIAS DE POLINUCLEOTìDEO E POLIPEPTìDEO EM PLANTAS E ANIMAIS DOMESTICADOS". A presente invenção refere-se a métodos para identificar seqüências de polinucleotídeo e polipeptídeo que podem ser associadas com características comercialmente ou esteticamente relevantes em plantas ou animais domesticados. Os métodos empregam a comparação de genes homólogos do organismo domesticado e seu ascendente para identificar alterações evolucionariamente significantes e alterações evolucionariamente neutras. Seqüências desse modo identificadas podem ser úteis no realce de características comercialmente ou esteticamente desejáveis em organismos domesticados ou seus ancestrais selvagens.
