"DESCARREGADOR DE SOBRETENSãO PARA UTILIZAçãO EM REDES DE TRANSMISSãO DE ENERGIA". A fim de impedir que em um descarregador de sobretensão (1) que apresenta um trecho de descarga de corrente com pelo menos um bloco varistor (4a, 4b, 4c), quando da presença de uma falha interna e da aparição de um arco voltaico ligada a isso, um despedaçamento dos blocos varistores (4a, 4b, 4c) é previsto dispor na região lateral de pelo menos um bloco varistor (4a, 4b, 4c) um revestimento (9, 9a, 9b, 9c) de um material que, quando da ultrapassagem de uma temperatura crítica dos blocos varistores (4a, 4b, 4c), inicia uma descarga elétrica.
