Abstract
"MéTODO PARA APERFEIçOAR A ROBUSTEZ DA PERFORMANCE DE DIREçãO UTILIZANDO NãO UNIFORMIDADE DE MASSA NO PNEUMáTICO / RODA". A invenção relaciona-se com método para aperfeiçoar a performance de direção do veículo e a robustez desta performance através do controle de não uniformidades nos pneumáticos, rodas do veículo e nas montagens de pneumático / roda como um meio de superar a tendência de vários tipos de veículos de sofrer "perda da performance de direção". Enquanto minimizando as variações e força lateral (por exemplo, desbalanceamento de acoplamento), uma quantidade controlada de variação de força radial e/ou tangencial é induzida em uma ou mais montagens de pneumático / roda por meio de não uniformidade de massa, de não uniformidade dimensional e/ou de não uniformidade de rigidez. Par a não uniformidade de massa, o método preferido inclui conceder uma quantidade controlada de massa em excesso para os pneumáticos, especialmente na região da banda de rodagem, por meio, por exemplo, de uma emenda pesada, de um pedaço extra de tecido, ou de um setor de um componente do pneumático possuindo massa em excesso. A massa em excesso é meridionalmente simétrica de modo a induzir o desbalanceamento estático mas não o de acoplamento, desse modo concedendo uma "desbalanceamento estático residual" (RSI) para o pneumático. Variações benéficas da força tangencial e/ou radial irão resultar no uso de tal pneumático, mesmo se a montagem de pneumático / roda estiver balanceada por pesos adicionados para a roda. "Um método para determinar a robustez da performance de direção para uma combinação de construção de veículo / roda / pneumático". Compreende conduzir uma série de testes de performance de direção do veículo, onde pelo menos uma das montagens de pneumático / roda possui sua condição de balanceamento alterada para cada teste através de uma progressão de valores a partir de valores favoráveis para a performance de direção (por exemplo, RSI), através de valores neutros (balanceado) até valores desfavoráveis para a performance de direção (por exemplo, desbalanceamento de acoplamento).
