Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA PREPARAR UMA DISPERSãO NANOCOMPóSITA AQUOSA". A presente invenção está direcionada, em parte, às composições nanocompósitas melhoradas e aos processos para prepará-las. Em uma forma de realização, é fornecido um compreende: fornecer pelo menos um primeiro monómero etilenicamente insaturado; fornecer uma dispersão de argila aquosa que compreende uma argila aquosa pelo menos parcialmente esfoliada tendo um primeiro cátion trocável e, opcionalmente, pelo menos um segundo monómero etilenicamente insaturado; adicionar um segundo cátion à dita dispersão de argila aquosa, em que pelo menos uma porção do segundo cátion troca com pelo menos um porção do primeiro cátion para formar uma dispersão de argila aquosa modificada; combinar o primeiro monómero etilenicamente insaturado e a dispersão de argila aquosa modificada; e polimerizar pelo menos uma porção do primeiro ou segundo monómero para formar a dispersão nanocompósita aquosa em que pelo menos um do primeiro ou do segundo monómeros compreende um monómero polar.
