Abstract

"TRATAMENTO DE MATERIAIS MINERAIS". A invenção refere-se a um processo em que o material compreendendo um líquido aquoso com sólidos particulados dispersos é bombeado como um fluido e então deixado ficar em repouso e se enrijecer, sendo que o enrijecimento é melhorado enquanto se mantém a capacidade de bombeamento do material, pela combinação de partículas poliméricas com o material, antes ou durante o bombeamento do mesmo, em que as partículas poliméricas compreendendo polímero solúvel em água, com viscosidade intrínseca de pelo menos 3 dl/g. O processo da invenção minimiza mais efetivamente a área ocupada por uma pilha do material de um dado volume, enquanto mantém a capacidade de bombeamento do material. Esta invenção é, particularmente, adequada a material que compreende lama vermelha do processo de alumina da Bayer.
