Abstract

"MéTODO DE COMUNICAçãO DE CORREçãO DE ERRO PARA TRANSMITIR PACOTES DE DADOS EM UM SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO DE REDE". é provido um protocolo de comunicação de correção de erro que é implementado dentro de um sistema de comunicação de rede. O sistema de comunicação de rede inclui pelo menos um meio de transmissão conectando uma pluralidade de extremidades de comunicação, isto é, dispositivos ou unidades. O protocolo proporciona transmissão de pacotes com erros corrigidos enviados para uma única extremidade ou para múltiplas extremidades, por exemplo, pacotes de difusão. De acordo com o protocolo, cada extremidade transmissora separa seu tráfego, por exemplo, pacotes de dados, a serem transmitidos para filas distintas. O pacote no início de uma fila é transmitido, e nenhum outro pacote é transmitido até que seja gerado um sinal de transmissão concluída. Há apenas uma transmissão incompleta a partir de uma determinada extremidade transmissora a qualquer tempo. Quando um pacote é recebido sem erro e aceito por uma extremidade de destino, a extremidade de destino imediatamente retorna uma confirmação indicando recepção bem-sucedida para a extremidade transmissora. O sinal de transmissão concluída é gerado na extremidade transmissora em um momento quando qualquer confirmação de receptor deve ter sido recebida pela extremidade transmissora. Quando o sinal de transmissão concluída é processado pela extremidade transmissora, se uma confirmação de receptor indicando recepção bem-sucedida tiver sido recebida, o pacote previamente enviado é removido do início de sua fila. Caso contrário, o pacote é deixado no início de sua fila, a fila é colocada em estado de "nova tentativa pendente" e um temporizador curto de "nova tentativa pendente" é iniciado (a menos que o temporizador de "nova tentativa pendente" tenha sido iniciado devido a uma nova tentativa pendente para uma outra fila). De qualquer modo, um outro pacote é transmitido do início de uma fila que não se ache no estado de "nova tentativa pendente", se houver alguma. Quando expirar o temporizador de "nova tentativa pendente", todas as filas são retiradas do estado de "nova tentativa pendente", permitindo que seus pacotes sejam outra vez transmitidos. Um número de seq³ência consistindo em pelo menos um bit pode ser usado para todas as transmissões a partir da mesma fila, e verificado pela extremidade de destino, de modo que pacotes duplicatas devido a confirmações perdidas de receptor podem ser descartados pela extremidade de destino.
