Abstract
"CENTRAL DE FORçA DE CéLULA DE COMBUSTìVEL E MéTODOS DE OPERAR UMA CENTRAL DE FORçA DE CéLULA DE COMBUSTìVEL E SISTEMA DE CéLULA DE COMBUSTìVEL". A presente invenção é uma central de força de célula de combustível (10), que inclui uma célula de combustível (12) tendo um conjunto de elétrodos de membrana (16), que é disposto entre uma placa de suporte de ânodo (17) e uma placa de suporte de cátodo (19) e placas de transporte de água porosas (84', 86') adjacentes às placas de suporte de ânodo e cátodo. As placas de transporte de água porosas têm canais de fluxo interdigitados para as correntes de gás reagentes (110) passarem através deles e canais de fluxo convencionais para uma corrente refrigerante (98) passar através deles. A central de força de célula de combustível também tem meios para criar um diferencial de pressão entre as correntes de gás reagentes e a corrente refrigerante, de modo que a pressão das correntes de gás reagentes é maior do que a corrente refrigerante. Incorporando os canais de fluxo interdigitados dentro das placas de transporte de água porosas e operando-se a célula combustível em uma pressão diferencial, permite-se que a água refrigerante sature as placas de transporte de água, desse modo forçando os gases reagentes para dentro da placa de suporte de ânodo e cátodo. Esta, por sua vez, aumenta a transferência de massa de tais gases para dentro das placas de suporte, desse modo aumentando o desempenho elétrico da célula de combustível. Densidades de corrente de cerca de 1,6 amps por metro quadrado são conseguidas com estequiometrias de ar de não mais do que 2,50.
