Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "PROCESSO PARA CONVERSãO DE UM APARELHO SEMI-SUBMERSìVEL EXISTENTE". Um processo para converter um aparelho semi-submersível de perfuração ou acomodação para um navio posicionado dinamicamente no qual o aparelho tem flutuadores submersos abaixo de uma superfície de um corpo de água para produzir deslocamento, colunas de suporte que se estendem verticalmente a partir dos flutuadores e orientadas para interceptar a superfície do corpo de água para definir uma área de linha d'água para o aparelho, e um convés de trabalho suportado sobre as colunas de suporte e arranjado para ser colocado em uma posição acima da superfície do corpo de água. O processo de conversão inclui pré-fabricar uma extensão de aparelho na qual a extensão de aparelho tem uma extensão flutuador, uma extensão de convés de trabalho e uma estrutura suporte suplementar que conecta a extensão de convés de trabalho à extensão de flutuador, a extensão de aparelho é então conectada ao aparelho semi-submersível em localizações proximais a um dos flutuadores e um convés de trabalho. Propulsor(es) pode(m) ser opcionalmente adicionado(s) à extensão do flutuador. A conversão é utilizada para aumentar o deslocamento de água do aparelho para produzir um deslocamento de água do navio convertido maior do que o deslocamento de água do aparelho e para dotar o navio convertido de uma área de linha d'água maior do que uma área de linha d'água do aparelho aumentando com isto uma capacidade de carga de convés e estabilidade do navio convertido. Equipamentos suplementares de geração e distribuição de energia são instalados, os quais incluem no mínimo um gerador Diesel na extensão do aparelho. O propulsor é no mínimo primariamente energizado pelo equipamento suplementar de geração e distribuição de energia.
