Abstract

"SISTEMA E MéTODO PARA MEDIR O RETARDO DE IDA E VOLTA EM UM SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO POR SATéLITE". Um sistema e um método para determinar um retardo de ida e volta de sinais transmitidos entre um primeiro e um segundo objetos, tais como um satélite (104) e um telefone móvel (108), que se movem um em relação ao outro. Um primeiro sinal é transmitido (404) a partir do primeiro objeto (104, 108) para o segundo objeto (108, 104). O primeiro sinal é recebido no segundo objeto (408) após um retardo de propagação D~ 1~, o retardo D~ 1~ sendo o tempo necessário para que o primeiro sinal passe do primeiro objeto para o segundo objeto. Uma freq³ência do primeiro sinal é medida (412) no segundo objeto. O segundo objeto a seguir transmite para o primeiro objeto um segundo sinal (416) contendo um relatório da primeira freq³ência medida. O segundo sinal é recebido no primeiro objeto após um retardo de propagação D~ 2~, D~ 2~ sendo o tempo necessário para que o segundo sinal passe do segundo objeto para o primeiro objeto. O primeiro objeto mede uma freq³ência do segundo sinal (424). O primeiro objeto a seguir determina a distância entre o primeiro e o segundo objetos (428) a partir do retardo total medido e das freq³ências medidas dos primeiro e segundo sinais.
