Abstract

"APARELHO PARA MEDIçãO DAS PROPRIEDADES DE UMA FIBRA óTICA". é revelado um aparelho para medição de propriedades de uma fibra de guia de onda ótica. O aparelho é livre de aberturas, lentes, e espelhos usualmente requeridos na medição de certas propriedades de fibra de guia de onda. O aparelho emprega uma comutação ótica na extremidade de lançamento da fibra ótica a ser testada, e outra comutação ótica na extremidade de saída da fibra ótica a ser testada. As comutações preservam a distribuição de energia de modo, particularmente o tamanho de ponto, de passagem de luz através destas. O aparelho pode ser usado para medir largura de faixa ou atenuação de uma fibra de guia de multimodo, ambas das quais são afetadas pela distribuição de energia de modo lançada e detectada.
