Abstract

The method is applied in the tobacco industry for the manufacture of tobacco products. By the method, the leave lamina is subjected to one-stage treatment by simultaneously reducing the moisture content, facilitating the subsequent treatment and considerably reducing the costs and the power consumption. The whole tobacco leaves are fed through a crushar where a product is produced in the form of a mixture of lamina particles and basically intact particles of the leave nervature. The lamina product fraction has suitable sizes and humidity to be included in the tobacco product without any need for further crushing.
