Abstract

The combined mould is used in foundry engineering for casting cartridge shells, applied in the actuation part of rail transportation vehicles. It allows to obtain castings with both symmetric and asymmetric surfaces. The mould consists of a base metallic form (1), on which longitudinally divided inserts (2 and 3) are mounted. The zone shapes the asymmetric casting section. A cavity, which is divided symmetrically by a mould core (5), occupies the space between the inserts (2 and 3).<IMAGE>
