Treatments For Attaching Organic Compounds To Fibrous Goods
(AREA)
Abstract
The method improves the fibre structure uniformity, as well as the uniformity of the colouration, its physical, chemical and mechanical properties. The lubricating composition, which is used for treatment of the silk prior to the drying, contains a 5 per cent lubricant with ethoxylated amines as main components. The substances (sodium hydroxide, urea, and neutral soup), added to this composition, prompt the cellulose to swell and the fibres shrink during the first drying. These substances are concentrated predominantly in the most accessible and loose parts of the fibres and stimulate the shrinking process, which reduces the differences in the condition and behaviour of the different fibre sections. The additive has a concentration such that the fibres swell, but do not dissolve. The concentrations are as follows: sodium hydroxide - from 0.2 to 0.4 per cent, urea - from 1 to 5 per cent, neutral soup - from 1 to 5 per cent.
