Abstract

Устройството осигурява съставен сигнал (28) с минимален брой битове. То предава цифров информационен сигнал посредством предавателна среда. Този сигнал може да се раздели на два или повече субсигнали. Всеки субсигнал (10) се предава като некодиран (4) или като кодиран (7). По какъв начин ще се предава субсигналът зависи от компресията (12а), коятоможе да се постигне чрез кодиращия преобразувател(7). Ако компресирането е ниско, субсигналът се предава в некодирана форма (4). За приемника се добавя идентификация (18) към съставния сигнал, за да се предаде. Първата съставка на идентифицирания сигнал индицира дали един или повече субсигнали се предават в кодирана форма, а втората му съставка завсеки субсигнал индицира дали се проявява в кодирана или некодирана форма в съставния сигнал.
