Abstract

The toroid engine (20) has opposite rotor units (45) whichcontain pistons (47) adjacent to each of the rotor units (45).Between the pistons (47) toroid operating chambers are partiallyformed in which the fuel mixture of fuel and air is compressed bysubsequent combustion at minimum volume of the operating chamberforcing the active pistons (4) and the rotor unit (45) toaccelerate. The rotor units drive a planetary aggregate (50) whichrevolves around its axis along the length of a sliding connection(56) Each planetary aggregate (50) is fitted to a journal of acrankshaft (40) forming an integral part with a planetary gearmeshed to a central gear rim (53), coaxially positioned to theaxle of the crankshaft. Crankshaft (40) can revolve in oppositedirection in respect of the rotor units (45) by meshing the gearof the planetary unit (52) to gear rim (53), or in the samedirection with the rotor units (45) after meshing to the centralgear.25 claims, 19 figures
