Abstract

The invention relates to a method for making ceramic shellmoulds for precision moulding produced by the method of themeltable models It can be applied in metallurgy and the mechanicalengineering. By the method, suspension containing modified bindersolution of sodium metasilicate (soluble glass), refractory filler(marshallite, fireclay, zircon, corundum) and surfactant is used.The moulds are made by the immersion of the model unit in thesuspension, sprinkling with quartz sand and hardening and dryingof the layers after which layer treatment is made in10-20%-solution of a single-base carbonic acid. The bindingsolution includes the following components in %: solution ofsodium metasilicate from 53.0 to 67.0, solution of AlH3/PO4/2.3H20from 0.0 to 4.5, surfactant 0.1-1.1 and water from 27.4 to 46.7.The ceramic moulds have mechanical strength from 2.8 to 6.0 MPa,gas permeability from 140 to 160, deformation temperature over1400°C and refractoriness over 1650°C.1 claim
