EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
14,16 du poste de soudage 15 ; - lorsque l'extrémité arrière du produit 40 a passé les mâchoires 14, 16, les tapis s'arrêtent (la détection de l'extremiste du produit peut se faire par cellule photoélectrique qui déclenche l'arrêt des moteurs d'entrainement des tapis 10, 12) ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
rouleau 24 jusqu' ce qu'il vienne en contact avec le rouleau motorisé 22 ;
5 mm et le fil rond 18 a un diamètre d'environ 0, 3 mm et est situé vers le milieu du fil plat pendant le soudage de manière que le fil rond s'enfonce- partiellement dans la matière plastique pour créer une amorce de rupture ;
après 1'opération de soudage, la mächoire 16 est remontée ainsi que le rouleau 24 et le produit em- ballé est évacué par le tapis 12 vers le tapis 34 ; - le produit 40 dans son sac 42 est alors légèrement pressé par la plaque 50 contre le tapis 34 pour en assurer un bon entraînement positif (figure 4) ; - pendant ce temps, le pointeau 36 vient coincer le déchet d'extrémité inférieure 43 du sac en son milieu (figure 5) juste derrière la soudure et even- tuellement contre une tôle fixe (non illustrée) située ä l'endroit du pointeau 36 et juste au-dessus du tapis 34 de manière ä créer une deformation de l'extremiste 43 du sac plastique 42 et une amorce de séparation en un point central entre le déchet 43 et la soudure ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

EMI1.1
The present invention relates to a method and the installation for completing the packaging operation of finished products, in particular textile products such as sheets, shirts, T-shirts, etc. in plastic packaging.
These packages are generally presented as flexible plastic bags, the upper end of which is closed and completely finished, that is to say provided with means for opening the bag and possibly with means for hooking the bag. These hooking means allow the bag containing the product to be suspended in a shelving or display provided for this purpose.
Before packaging the product, the lower end of this type of bag is open to allow the introduction of the product previously folded and possibly provided with a stiffening carton.
After the product has been introduced into the bag, the open side is generally sealed by welding and the end waste is eliminated.
The presentation of this kind of textile products is subject to increasingly strict criteria, that is to say that the product must be tight in the packaging and that the finish appearance of the weld bottom seal of the bag must be impeccable.
The methods and installations known at present do not generally meet these criteria.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In fact, in known installations, the welding operation and the removal of the end waste beyond the weld are often combined with the disadvantage that the pulling of the extremist leads to damage to the weld. and withdrawal with the formation of plastic threads still in the molten state. The plastic films of the bag are welded by heated wires pressed against the plastic under a certain pressure and brought to the appropriate temperature, to bring the plastic to the melting state, generally by means of pulses. more or less well controlled electric current.
Another drawback is that the plastic material and the thickness of the films do not always have constant characteristics and that it is not completely known how to avoid a drift over time of the temperature parameters in the welding machines, especially during stops and return to work.
There is also the possibility of cutting the extremity of the bag by a cutting device such as for example a guillotine but this solution also has the disadvantage of an unattractive presentation. Indeed in most cases an edge of about 5 mm of plastic material in double thickness and open to the outside behind the weld. is not acceptable.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks and to propose a process and the apparatus allowing an impeccable presentation and finish of the packaging of finished products.
To this end, the subject of the present invention comprises a process as claimed in claims 1 to 5 as well as an installation for carrying out this process as claimed in claims 6 to 9.

The invention will be described below. using a practical embodiment example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 is an elevational view of all the elements of the installation for carrying out the method according to the invention; FIGS. 2 and 3 are elevation views showing two phases of the method according to the invention; - Figure 4 is an elevational view showing the installation for discharging the end waste
EMI3.1
bottom of the bag - Figure 5 is a plan view along the line V-V of Figure 4.
In Figure 1 is shown at 10 a conveyor belt on which is brought a plastic bag
EMI3.2
that into which is already introduced the textile product 40 prepared for this purpose.
Between the mat 10 and a next mat 12 is disposed the welding installation 15 consisting essentially of a lower jaw 14. provided with a flat heating wire 17 and an upper jaw 16 provided with a round wire 18. Au at least one of these jaws is removable and in the example shown only the upper jaw 16 is controlled by a jack 20.
In accordance with the invention, a motorized roller 22 can be mounted upstream of the welding station which can be driven in two directions of rotation and which cooperates with a roller 24 rotating freely in a
EMI3.3
support 26 which can be brought closer to the roller 22 by means of a jack 28.
Above the belt 12, which is downstream of the welding station, there is preferably provided a first pressure plate 30 controlled by a jack 32.
In the extension of the treadmill 12 is
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
disposed an outlet belt 34 above which is mounted the device 35 intended to evacuate the waste 43 of lower end 43 of the bag'42.
This device consists of a rubber tip or needle 36 mounted on a jack 38 and a second pressure plate 50 controlled by a jack 52.
Between the treadmills 10 and 12 the first phase of the process according to the invention is carried out, that is to say the correct positioning of the finished product.
40 at the bottom of the bag 42 just before the welding operation.
On the conveyor belt 34 is carried out the second phase of the method according to the invention, that is to say the evacuation of the rear edge of the end waste 43 of the bag at the location of the weld.
The complete cycle of the process according to the invention takes place as follows (FIGS. 2 to 5): - the finished product 40 placed inside a plastic bag 42, closed at its upper end 41 and possibly provided with a hook 44 is brought by the conveyor belts 10 and 12 through the jaws
14.16 from the welding station 15; - when the rear end of the product 40 has passed the jaws 14, 16, the belts stop (the detection of the extremist of the product can be done by photoelectric cell which triggers the stop of the drive motors of the belts 10 , 12);
- Optionally, a pressure plate 30 is provided which, at this moment, descends via the jack 32 against the product and expels the excess air from the plastic bag 42; - At this moment, the jack 20 controls the descent of the upper jaw 18 to a level where it does not yet exert pressure on the lower jaw 14; - at the same time, the jack 28 acts on the support 26 of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
roller 24 until it comes into contact with the motorized roller 22;
The free end 43 of the bag 42 being clamped between the rollers 24 and 22, the latter is actuated in the opposite direction (see arrow in FIG. 2) which has the consequence that the bag 42 is withdrawn towards the quarry and that the product abuts against the upper jaw 16 by pushing it to the bottom of the bag (Figure 3); - at this moment the jaw 16 with the round wire 18 (not heating) is pushed further against the jaw 14 and the heating flat wire performs the welding; preferably the flat wire 17 has a width of about
5 mm and the round wire 18 has a diameter of about 0.3 mm and is located towards the middle of the flat wire during welding so that the round wire partially sinks into the plastic to create a breakthrough ;
after the welding operation, the jaw 16 is raised as well as the roller 24 and the wrapped product is discharged through the belt 12 towards the belt 34; - The product 40 in its bag 42 is then slightly pressed by the plate 50 against the belt 34 to ensure a good positive drive (Figure 4); - during this time, the needle 36 comes to wedge the bottom end waste 43 of the bag in the middle (FIG. 5) just behind the weld and possibly against a fixed sheet (not illustrated) located at the point of the needle 36 and just above the carpet 34 so as to create a deformation of the extremist 43 of the plastic bag 42 and a separation primer at a central point between the waste 43 and the weld;
this separation is then carried out simultaneously to the left and to the right of this central point in very good conditions because
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
the plastic weld is already sufficiently solidified to obtain a clear and progressive separation of the waste; - Then the packaged product can go to stack at the end of the conveyor belt 34 and - the waste 43 thus separated is eliminated laterally or vertically according to the possibilities.
The originality of the process according to the invention consists in separating the waste 43 at a location different from the place where the welding takes place, which saves time and separates this waste in such a way that causes a clear and progressive uprooting by using very simple and reliable means.
This aspect together with the correct positioning of the product in the bag are the basis for obtaining a presentable and reliable packaging of the finished product.
