Abstract

The coupling (1) is intended for securing a handle (5) to a tool (8) e.g. a broom or rake. It comprises a hollow element (2) secured to or part of the tool and provided with an internal taper screw thread (4), to grip the end of the handle. A clamp is provided for the end of the handle, e.g. circumferentially spaced axially projecting resilient lips (10). - These clamps are radially inwardly pressed by a screw bush (3) around the end of the handle, with an internal screw thread (13) fitting on external thread (11) on the element (2). The bush pref. has an internal cone (14) to engage the ends (9) of the lips.

  ----------------- -------------------------- Deze uitvinding heeft betrekking op een koppelstuk voor het bevestigen van een steel aan een gereedschap. Meer speciaal betreft de uitvinding een koppelstuk om op een zeer gemakkelijke wijze een gereedschap op een steel te bevestigen, waarbij dit even gemakkelijk terug kan losgemaakt worden, eventueel om in een ander gereedschap te voorzien. Het gereedschap zelf kan uiteraard van willekeurige aard zijn, en wordt bijvoorbeeld gevormd door een borstel, een hark, enz. 



  Men kent koppelstukken waarmede men een steel en een gereedschap op een vlugge wijze aan elkaar kan verbinden. Deze bekende koppelstukken vertonen evenwel het nadeel dat zij slechts van een enkelvoudig aanspanbaar klemmiddel zijn voorzien, waardoor de verbinding weinig betrouwbaar is.

  Teineinde aan dit nadeel een oplossing te bieden voorziet de huidige uitvinding in een koppelstuk waarbij gebruik gemaakt wordt van, enerzijds, bevestigingsmiddelen en, anderzijds, bijkomende aanspanbare klemmiddelen. Hierdoor wordt een dubbele koppeling gerealiseerd waardoor een grotere betrouwbaarheid wordt verkregen. 



  Deze uitvinding heeft dan ook als voorwerp een koppelstuk dat bestaat in de kombinatie van een eerste hol element dat kan verbonden worden met, of deel uitmaakt van, het gereedschap en dat voorzien is van bevestigingsmiddelen om de steel in het hol element te bevestigen, van bijkomende aanspanbare klemmiddelen, en van uitwendige schroefdraad ; en een tweed element in de vorm van een schroefdop die over de steel kan geschoven worden en die kan samenwerken met de uitwendige schroefdraad van het eerste element teneinde de klemmiddelen rond de steel aan te spannen. 



  Met het doel de karakteristieken van de uitvinding te verduidelijken, is hierna, uitsluitend als voorbeeld, zonder enige beperkende aard, een voorkeurdragende uitvoeringsvorm beschreven aan de hand van de bijgaande figuren, waarin :

 figuur 1 het koppelstuk in uiteengeschroefde toestand weergeeft ; figuur 2 een doorsnede weergeeft volgens lijn 11-11 in figuur 1 ; figuur 3 het koppelstuk gedurende het gebruik weergeeft. 



  Zoals weergegeven in de figuren bestaat het koppelstuk 1 hoofdzakelijk uit een eerste hol element 2 en een tweede element 3 in de vorm van een schroefdop. 



  Het eerste element 2 is hoofdzakelijk cylindervormig uitgevoerd en is inwendig voorzien van bevestigingsmiddelen, zoals een vertanding of schroefdraad 4, zodanig dat hierin een steel 5 kan bevestigd worden. De steel 5 kan hierbij zowel in dit eerste element 2 geschroefd als hierin gedrukt worden, zulks afhankelijk van de uitvoering. De gemiddelde doormeter D van de vertanding 4 is bij voorkeur naar onder toe vernauwend uitgevoerd. 



  Aan het onderste uiteinde 6 is het eerste element 2 verbonden met een gereedschap of is hiermede eendelig uitgevoerd. In de weergegeven uitvoeringsvorm werkt het uiteinde 6 samen met een boring 7 in een borstellichaam 8, en is hierin bijvoorbeeld vastgelijmd   en/of   vastgeklemd, dit laatste eventueel d. m. v. weerhaakjes of dergelijke.

  Aan zijn tweede uiteinde 9 is het eerste element 2 voorzien van aanspanbare klemmiddelen die gevormd worden door elastisch radiaal verplooibare, doch axiaal gerichte vinnen   10.   



  Aan de buitenzijde is het eerste element 2 voorzien van schroefdraad 11. 



  Het voornoemde tweede element 3 vertoont hoofdzakelijk de vorm van een schroefdop, die een axiale boring 12 vertoont, één en ander zodanig dat dit element 3 over de steel 5 en het eerste element 2 past. Inwendig is dit tweede element 3 voorzien van schroefdraad 13 die kan samenwerken met de uitwendige schroefdraad 11 van het eerste element 2, evenals van een konisch gedeelte 14 dat kan samenwerken met de voornoemde vinnen   10.   



  Het gebruik van het koppelstuk 1 wordt zeer duidelijk in figuren 1 en 3 weergegeven. Dit bestaat er hoofdzakelijk in dat de steel 5 in het eerste element 2 bevestigd wordt door hem met zijn uiteinde in de vertanding 4 te drukken en/of te schroeven en vervolgens het tweede element 3 over de steel 5 te schuiven en op het eerste element 2 te schroeven. Bij het aanschroeven worden d. m. v. het konisch gedeelte 14 de vinnen 10 tegen de steel 5 geklemd. Het is duidelijk dat hierbij een dubbele verbinding ontstaat die een grote zekerheid biedt.

  Het is duidelijk dat deze uitvinding niet beperkt blijft tot de als voorbeeld beschreven en in de hierbij gevoegde tekeningen weergegeven uitvoeringsvorm, doch zulk koppelstuk, alsmede de verscheidene delen ervan, kunnen in veel vormen en afmetingen worden tot stand gebracht zonder buiten het kader der uitvinding te treden.

  ----------------- -------------------------- This invention relates to a connector for attaching a stem to a tool. More specifically, the invention relates to a coupling piece for attaching a tool to a handle in a very easy manner, whereby it can be released just as easily, possibly to provide another tool. The tool itself can, of course, be of any kind, and is, for example, a brush, a rake, etc.



  Couplers are known with which one can connect a handle and a tool in a quick manner. However, these known coupling pieces have the drawback that they are only provided with a single clampable clamping means, so that the connection is not very reliable.

  In order to provide a solution to this drawback, the present invention provides a coupling using, on the one hand, fasteners and, on the other hand, additional tightening clamping means. A double coupling is hereby realized, whereby greater reliability is obtained.



  The present invention therefore has as its object a coupling piece which exists in the combination of a first hollow element which can be connected to, or forms part of, the tool and which is provided with fastening means for fixing the stem in the hollow element, with additional clampable clamping means, and of external screw thread; and a second element in the form of a screw cap slidable over the stem and cooperating with the external threads of the first element to tighten the clamping means around the stem.



  For the purpose of clarifying the characteristics of the invention, a preferred embodiment is described below, by way of example only, without any limiting nature, with reference to the accompanying figures, in which:

 figure 1 shows the coupling piece in unscrewed condition; figure 2 represents a section according to line 11-11 in figure 1; figure 3 shows the coupling piece during use.



  As shown in the figures, the coupling piece 1 mainly consists of a first hollow element 2 and a second element 3 in the form of a screw cap.



  The first element 2 has a substantially cylindrical shape and is internally provided with fasteners, such as a toothing or screw thread 4, such that a stem 5 can be fastened therein. The stem 5 can be screwed into this first element 2 as well as pressed into it, depending on the embodiment. The average diameter D of the toothing 4 is preferably narrowed downwards.



  At the lower end 6, the first element 2 is connected to a tool or is made in one piece. In the shown embodiment the end 6 cooperates with a bore 7 in a brush body 8, and is glued and / or clamped therein, for example, the latter d. m. v. barbs or the like.

  At its second end 9, the first element 2 is provided with tensionable clamping means which are formed by elastically radially foldable, but axially oriented fins 10.



  On the outside, the first element 2 is provided with screw thread 11.



  The aforementioned second element 3 mainly has the form of a screw cap, which has an axial bore 12, such that this element 3 fits over the stem 5 and the first element 2. Internally, this second element 3 is provided with screw thread 13 which can cooperate with the external screw thread 11 of the first element 2, as well as with a conical part 14 which can cooperate with the aforementioned fins 10.



  The use of the coupling piece 1 is shown very clearly in Figures 1 and 3. This mainly consists in that the stem 5 is fixed in the first element 2 by pressing it with its end into the toothing 4 and / or screwing it and then sliding the second element 3 over the stem 5 and onto the first element 2 to screw. When screwing on d. With the conical part 14 the fins 10 are clamped against the stem 5. It is clear that this creates a double connection that offers great security.
