Dans un ralentisseur à courants de Foucault, notamment pour véhicule, on décale chaque épanouissement polaire (5), par rapport à l'axe (Y) du noyau magnétique (2) correspondant, circonférentiellement en arrière, c'est-à-dire dans le sens contraire à celui (F) de la rotation du rotor.
