Abstract

The battery switch is made up of a U-shaped spring steel bracket (E) with conducting hemispheres or cones projecting inward from the tips of the 'U". The bracket is rigidly mounted on the bodywork or chassis of the vehicle by means of an insulated support. A conductive disc (G) with an axial hole is forced between the jaws of the bracket so the projections from the jaws fit into the hole in the centre of the disc. - The electric supply of the vehicle is connected to the bracket and to the disc so that if the disc becomes separated from the bracket, for example due to the inertial force generated by the vehicle being in collision, the supply circuit is broken.
