<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Figure 1 une vue en élévation de face d'un dispositif suivant l'invention monté dans une baie de fenêtre ;
Figures 2 et 3 sont deux coupes par 2-2 de la figure 1, respectivement au moment de la pose du dispositif dans la baie et au moment de sa fixation en place, l'élément extensible étant constitué ici par une chambre à air ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Sui-
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

1 Descriptive memorandum filed in support of a request for a B D'INVENTION in the name of:
Henri Raymond POULL for: "Device for rapid installation and removal in an enclosure, in particular thermal and / or acoustic insulation device".
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to the rapid installation and removal of an element in an enclosure and is particularly applicable to the thermal and acoustic insulation of buildings or to any assembly requiring the use of panels of any kind.
The object of the invention is to provide a device which can be placed in the desired location, such as a window opening or a ceiling box, in a simple and rapid manner and which can be removed as simply and also quickly.
A device for rapid installation and removal in an enclosure according to the invention is characterized in that it is constituted by a structure formed by a set of tubes joined together freely by bent tubular elements, the peripheral cavity created by the juxtaposition of the tubes and the bent elements serving as accommodation for an extensible means acting on the dimensions of the structure.
According to the invention, the components of the structure are inserted into a sleeve made of flexible material, such as polyethylene, foam rubber or the like.
According to the invention the extensible element is pressurized air and the components are connected to each other by tight extensible connections.
According to the invention also the expandable element is an air chamber, inflatable for fixing the structure in the enclosure.
Also according to a variant of the invention, the extensible element is a rod of cellular material,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
compressible for installation in the enclosure and re-expandable in place in the enclosure.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the edges of a substantially planar element, such as a panel, glass, mesh, etc. are embedded between the sleeve and the structure and fixed to said sleeve.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the elements making up the structure have, towards the inside of the frame, a groove for embedding the edges of a substantially planar element, panel, double glazing, etc.
To better understand the invention, it is now described on the basis of the appended drawing, by way of example only, showing in:
Figure 1 a front elevational view of a device according to the invention mounted in a window bay;
Figures 2 and 3 are two sections through 2-2 of Figure 1, respectively at the time of installation of the device in the bay and at the time of its fixing in place, the expandable element being constituted here by an air chamber;
Figures 4 and 5 are two sections similar to that of Figures 2 and 3 in an alternative embodiment.
There is shown in Figure 1 in a wall 1 a window bay 2-already or not provided with a current window frame-which one wishes to insulate thermally and / or acoustically. For this purpose we will mount in this bay an isolation device according to the invention. Here, it consists of a set of four tubes 3 joined at their ends in bent tubular elements 4 to form a frame. The connection between tubes and elbows is free, there is no gluing or other fixing.
The frame thus mounted is extensible, since the tubes 3 and the bent elements 4 are freely mounted one inside the other. The frame can therefore extend in any direction.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
So as to be able to fix the frame in any position of its extension, provision is made to accommodate in the peripheral cavity 5 constituted by the tubes and the elbows juxtaposed an expandable element and it is possible to choose an extendable element for pressurized air, which can be introduced or escaped on command by a pipette or a fitting.
Instead of pressurized air in the frame-which results in the mounting of a tight expandable connection between the tube and the elbow element-an expandable air chamber 7 can be used as the expandable element, which is arranged deflated in the cavity 5 like a tube in a tire.
To obtain an excellent grip and perfect fixing between the frame and the enclosure in which it is to be placed, the entire periphery of the frame is inserted into a sleeve 8 made of flexible material, such as polyethylene, cellular rubber or the like. The sleeve 8 is intended, during the extension of the frame to be crushed between said frame and the edges of the enclosure, constituting a flattened contact surface.
In FIG. 2, the frame is shown in its narrowed dimensions with the air chamber 7 deflated, the tubes 3 sinking into their elbows 4. The frame can be placed in the window opening 2.
The frame being placed, the air chamber 7 is inflated (FIG. 3), connected by any suitable means to an inflation device, and this inflating fills the cavity 5 and causes the frame to extend, the tubes withdrawing more or less lightly from their elbows.
We see that the sleeve 8 has flattened under the effect of the extension of the frame.
It is easily understood that it suffices to deflate the air chamber to deposit the device.
The frame 3, 4 is intended to support a flat element, such as a window, a panel, a mesh, etc. Follow-
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
vant an embodiment of the invention the planar element 9 is embedded between the frame and the sleeve and fixed to the latter.
In the representation of FIGS. 1 to 3, a planar element 9 is mounted on each side of the frame and the latter can extend freely between the two elements 91years. These two planar elements 9 could be welded between them along their edges.
According to another embodiment (FIGS. 4 and 5), the tubes 3 and the bent elements 4 have a longitudinal slot 10 and this slot is arranged in such a way that it forms, during the assembly of the frame, a continuous groove turned towards the interior of the frame intended to receive the insulating flat element 9, such as a double pane, a triple pane or other suitable panel, which projects into the cavity 5.
In this case the expandable element will not be air but, for example, an air chamber and, with a double or triple window pane or with a ribbed panel, this swollen form a tight seal, which allows to consider create a gap between the walls.
Instead of an expandable element, such as an inflatable air chamber, a cellular rubber tube can be provided. In this case, we must compress the frame and therefore the flange to place the device in the bay. When it is placed, it suffices to release the frame and the flange, while trying to return to its decompressed or rest position, will press the frame and therefore its sleeve 8 against the edges of the bay. The fixation will also be very good.
The device according to the invention has been described placed in a window opening, by way of example, but such a device can be used as a false ceiling, an insulation box, a panel for various uses and it would not be possible to leave the field of the invention by making said device one or other modification falling within the scope of the appended claims.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
Thus, instead of a planar device formed by a frame, it is possible according to the invention to produce a device constituted by a structure forming a volume. In this case, bends in three directions are used, for example.
On the other hand, an advantage of the present invention consists in that the perfect sealing of the assembly in the case of an expandable element constituted by an air chamber makes it possible to create a vacuum between the two elements 9 or to introduce dry air or a suitable gas.
