Abstract

The emergency or distress warning kit includes a red rubber balloon, about 60 cm in diameter, with a fluorescent white circle on its upper part. Inside the white circle there is a white cross, also formed of fluorescent material. Hermetically sealed with the balloon is a container of helium gas with a safety valve. There is sufficient gas to inflate the balloon. The balloon has a length of nylon thread attached to it, with a magnetic or hook fastening attached to the other end of the thread.
