COCKERILL SAMBRE
COCKERILL SAMBRE
The present invention relates to a set of pick-up and pick-off members for harvesting tubers, which generally consists of a succession of rotary members called "suns".
These suns consist of a series of curved bars or spokes fixed on a central hub and which extend radially up to a given diameter. The ends of these bars can be connected by strapping, which allows a lighter, less expensive and more reliable construction. However, since ringed suns can cause jams if
are not constantly cleaned, it is only possible to use this kind of sun for the
organs of the first rank, that is to say the collecting organs which are constantly in contact with the ground.
Indeed until now, the two or three suns which follow one another in line one behind the other are located in the same plane of rotation, with levels slightly offset and inclined towards the ground
at the front of the set. To get a good return
and given this inclination of the whole, the sun or suns circled in the first row must penetrate the ground,
which requires a lot of energy from the towing machine. On the other hand, the suns penetrating into the ground have only a limited lifespan (wear, deterioration by
obstacles such as stones, etc.) and the ground
thus manipulated presents a lot of irregularities after
the passage of the harvester.
The object of the present invention is to propose a set of pick-up and pick-up members of light construction, less expensive and more reliable than before. In addition, there is an appreciable gain in energy and a leveling of the ground after passage.
To this end, the set of pick-up and pick-up members, object of the invention, comprises a succession of rotating suns whose plane of rotation of the
or suns of the first row has a longitudinal inclination relative to the plane of rotation of the following suns.
This inclination of the suns of the first row with respect to the following suns is obtained by an inclination of the plane of rotation of the longitudinal direction
first sun (s) between 0 and a few degrees (preferably maximum 5 [deg.]) from ground level and by an inclination relative to the plane of rotation of the following suns between 0 [deg.] and 20 [ deg.].
The invention will be described in more detail using the description of a non-limiting exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawing which represents a side view of an assembly according to the invention.
At 10, a mobile chassis is shown which can pivot around the axis 12 secured to the main chassis of the agricultural machine (tractor) so as to be able to adjust the height of the pick-up and scraper members relative to the ground level 14.
Towards the front end 16 of the chassis 10 is mounted the rotary member (s) 20 of the first row with hub 21 and drive shaft 22. Then the chassis
10 successively comprises the member (s) of the second row 24 with hub 25 and axis 26 and the members of the third row 28 with hub 29 and axis 30.
According to the invention, the front end
16 of the chassis 10 comprising the first row member 20 is inclined relative to the rear part 18 on which the members of the second and third rows are respectively mounted.
Or the members 20 of the first row are inclined between 0 and 5 [deg.] Relative to the ground and come slightly into contact therewith. Their function is to collect the tubers torn off and scattered on the ground by a previous operation and then transfer them to the following organs 24-28 by which the tubers are cleaned (peeled) and conveyed towards the rear of the machine to be transported by example by a basket lift.
Due to the low inclination relative to the ground of the sun 20 of the first row, the sun 24 of the second row approaches the ground until it comes to touch it. This has the effect that this sun 24 will be constantly cleaned by its contact with the ground and can therefore be replaced by a sun of light construction.
Advantageously the sun 28 of the third row will also be of the circled kind and to avoid possible jams, the rear periphery of this sun will pass
near an element such as the belt 32 of the next conveyor so as to carry out permanent cleaning.
Consequently, all the suns used in the pick-up and pick-up assembly according to the invention will be of the circled type, which significantly reduces the weight of the assembly while increasing reliability.
of the mechanism.
It goes without saying that we can also foresee
at 17 an inclination adjustment between the front end 16 and the rear part 18 can vary between
0 and 20 [deg.].
An alternative embodiment consists in providing independently of the slight inclination of the suns 20 of the first row in the direction of the pickup (that is to say from the front to the rear), also a slight inclination in the direction lateral (i.e.
left side to the right side).
In the case of two suns 20 juxtaposed in the first row, the two suns have a different lateral inclination so that only one sector of the periphery turning inwards comes into contact with the ground, the periphery turning outwards from the '' being slightly released from the ground.
Of course various modifications can be made by those skilled in the art to the device which has just been described solely by way of non-limiting example without departing from the scope of the invention.
