<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>

DEVICE FORMING A GUIDE HANDLE FOR A SUITCASE
Guide handle device for suitcase
The present invention relates to a device forming a guide handle for a suitcase.
Increasingly, rigid shell or structure suitcases are fitted with one or more rollers or even one or more
<EMI ID = 1.1>
easily maneuver the suitcases thus provided, provision has been made to place on the opposite side (or the opposite angle) of these said rollers, a folding arm usable as a guide handle and which in addition, in the case where there is only 'a

suitcase, will also be used to partially lift these suitcases.
Handles of the currently known type have the following drawbacks: they are not held automatically either in the open position (in use) or in the closed position (folded down), to do this they should be hung; moreover, they are generally handles, smooth limbs, which can easily slide out of the hand when the wheel or wheels come into contact with an obstacle.
The handle according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks, it is both automatically locked in the open position and in the closed position, beyond a certain position, it is designed so as to prevent it from sliding off. hand, on the other hand its dimensions are studied so as to easily move the suitcase, and in the folded position; to fit perfectly into the outline of the suitcase.
To this end "the device forming a handle for a suitcase with a shell or rigid structure, according to the invention, is composed in a known manner of a dormant part fixed on the transverse side of the suitcase, and of another opening part,

meter of the suitcase and constituting the handle proper, these two parts mounted pivoting one relative
the second part are essentially constituted by a straight U-shaped profile, the first part, dormant, of length much less than the second, opening, and the profile constituting the first part being of dimension smaller than the profile constituting the essential part of the second part so as to be able to be placed there when the part, the opening, is folded down; the two parts being secured to one another, on the one hand one in the other at one of their ends in a pivoting manner and on the other hand by a tie rod, forming a fork when the handle is or -

Referring to these various figures, 1 shows the first part forming a frame, straight U-shaped, fixed for example by screws on the side of a suitcase 2 (schematically and partially shown), 3 the second part , the opening, the actual handle formed by a straight U-shaped profile 4 between which is placed and fixed another element 5, a piece of length less than the profile 4 so as to leave

by means of the leaf spring 8, by 9 a pivot axis ensuring the joining between the leaf 3 and the frame 1.
We will now describe in detail each of the elements indicated above:
the frame 1, first part (fig. 10 and II) U-shaped right has four openings 10 allowing the
passage of screws (not shown) or other means for fixing the frame 1 to the case 2; the opening 11 being provided to allow the fixing of the leaf spring 8 for example by means of a hollow rivet (not shown), or also as shown by folding down the internal edges 12 (fig. 11) of the hole 11 after having placed the leaf spring 8. The frame 1 also has a
middle slot 13 which on the outside is provided
and other of its longitudinal edges) towards the end situated on the side of the free end of the frame, of a tab 14 pierced with a hole 15 for the placement of the pivot axis 16 of the tie rod 7, the end of the latter passing through the slot 13.
The opening or handle 3, second part, is constituted by two elements, a profile 4 in the shape of a straight U and another element 5 placed therein, of shorter length so as to leave a free space 6 to allow the frame 1 to be placed there also when the handle is folded down.

this end 30 of the tie rod 7 is also provided, on each of the longitudinal sides, a small axis 33, 34 on which will rest the leaf spring 8 which serves to initiate the opening and closing of the opening 3 relative to the frame 1.
