<EMI ID=3.1>

hop support, ropes serving as guides for the hops ".
The present invention relates to a device
in order to tie, to the supporting wires of a hop support frame, ropes acting as guides for the hops, this
device forming part of a machine ensuring the attachment of
hop guides on supporting wires, as well as their fixing in the ground.
Currently, as a guide for hops, we
generally uses a metal wire which is hooked manually to the wire carrying the hop support framework by means of
<EMI ID = 2.1> metal wire, strings are used. The ropes have not yet been attached mechanically and for this purpose a mobile platform is used. A person fixes the rope to
an anchoring device which has been previously driven into
the ground next to each plant, after which it passes the rope
to a second person who, from the mobile platform and by means of a rod, suspends the rope from a hook which has been previously attached to the carrying wire. From the hook, the rope passes along the supporting wire, then it is hooked to another hook, to then descend to the ground where it is fixed to another anchoring device near another plant, these operations being carried out at many times. We work with an undivided rope, which constitutes a significant consumption of rope for a unit of area. This process is time-consuming and expensive already during the preparation.
A large number of hooks must first be attached to the supporting wires of the hop support frame. For each plant, an anchoring device must first be driven into the ground in order to fix the rope. After harvest, these anchoring devices must be removed and the soil must be treated for a new operation. All these operations are the subject of manual work that cannot be mechanized. Until now, the actual hanging of the ropes has been carried out manually, which requires a lot of time and involves many costs. Until now, a machine has not yet been developed with a view to mechanically attaching a rope to the load-bearing wire, to then fix it in the ground.
The aforementioned drawbacks are avoided by means of the machine according to the invention intended for hanging ropes
to a wire carrying a hop support frame, as well as for fixing these ropes in the ground, this machine being characterized in that an arm provided with a device for introducing the rope is rotatably mounted on a journal apart from which is fixed a body of a knotter at a distance corresponding to the radius of curvature of the infeed device while, below the journal, a drawbar can slide in
a guide at the upper end of which is provided a sleeve
in which is eccentrically mounted a rotary guide element for the rope. Below the knotter, are placed a cutting device provided with a blade, as well as a fork
<EMI ID = 3.1>
a cavity is formed from which a continuous groove extends on both sides in the body of the knotter. In the lower part of the knotter body, a longitudinal guiding groove is made. A double fork cylinder is mounted so as to be able to slide in the body of the knotter, the upper part of this cylinder comprising a longitudinal groove.
On the body of the knotter is placed a scraper comprising a guide pin which engages in the guide groove made in the body of this knotter, while
the upper part of this scraper has an extraction pin passing through the groove made in the body of the knotter and engaging in a longitudinal groove made in the cylinder.
The device of the invention operates in a fully automatic manner. It is added to the operations carried out by other devices and it prepares the work to be carried out by a device intended to fix
the rope in the ground. Together with other devices,
it automates the whole process of attaching a rope to a load-bearing wire, as well as fixing the rope in the ground.
In this way, long and tiring manual work is avoided, all
by reducing labor and costs.
An exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention is shown schematically by the appended drawings in which:
FIG. 1 is an overall view of the device in the rest position; FIG. 2 is an overall view of the device at the start of the operation; Figure 3 is an overall view of the device after completion of the ligature; FIG. 4 is a view of the device at the end of the operation; FIG. 5 is a view of the various ligature elements; FIG. 6 is a view of the ligature elements in the working position and FIG. 7 is a view of the device supported by the support frame of the machine in the working position.
On a frame 25 provided on an arm 29 which can be uncoupled at the upper end of a machine for hooking up guides for hops, an arm 11 comprising an introduction device 1 for a rope is mounted in a rotating on a trunnion 6. Below trunnion 6 and on the frame

In addition, on the support frame 25 and below the journal 6 of the introduction device 1 for the rope, a fork 4 is mounted so as to be able to pivot in a bearing 23. On the same
<EMI ID = 6.1> radius of the introduction device, a body 2 of a knotter is attached in the upper part of which a cavity is made
14 from which extends a continuous groove 16 on both sides of the knotter. In the lower part of the body 2 of the knotter, there is provided a guide groove 15. A cylinder.18
is mounted so as to be able to slide in the body 2 of the knotter, a longitudinal groove 19 being made in the upper part of this cylinder. At the end of the cylinder 18, is fixed a double fork 21. On the body 2 of the knotter,
a scraper 17 is slid, the lower end of which comprises a guide pin 22 which engages a guide groove 15 made in the body 2 of the knotter. In its upper part, the scraper 17 comprises an extraction spindle 20 'passing through the groove 16 of the body 2 of the knotter and engaging in the longitudinal groove 19 made in the

the rotary guide element 8 to protrude beyond the edge
of the last. When rotating the introducer
1, the end of the rope is grasped by the tip of the latter, to then be driven over the guide wire 9 of the hop support frame. At the same time, as a result of the displacement of the rod 7, the sleeve 3 is brought, together with the
1 rotary guide 8, against the body 2 of the knotter. When this position is reached, the rotary guide member 8 is rotated and it begins to rotate along the inner periphery of the sleeve 3 and, at the same time, along a path around the body 2 of the knotter. so that, during this rotation, the rope is wound around this body 2 and, at the beginning, the windings are crossed under the influence of the lateral deviation of the
<EMI ID = 9.1> above the body cavity 2 of the knotter. Following the movement of the cylinder 18 in the body 2 of the knotter, the rope which is located above the cavity 14 is gripped by the double fork
21 and it is maintained by protruding in front of the body 2 of the knotter. Following the movement of the introduction device 1 of the rope, the end of the latter is introduced into the loop formed on the double fork 21, after which this end is released by the introduction device 1. Following the subsequent displacement of the scraper 17 along the body 2 of the knotter, the windings of the rope are gathered, by this body 2, in a loop on
the double fork 21, thus forming a knot on the eyelet of the cable attached to the wire carrying 9 of the hop support frame. During the formation of the knot, the sleeve 3 is brought back to its starting position by the rod 7. As a result of the return movement of the sleeve 3., the rope is stretched between the carrying wire 9,
the body 2 of the knotter and the rotary guide element 8. Following the tilting of the pivoting fork 4 downwards, the knot
is tightened, after which this pivoting fork 4 passes the rope through a chain measuring device forming part of another device. After setting the required string length, the cutting apparatus 10 rotates cutting the string so that the start of the next string is gripped into the rotary guide member 8 for another operation. When the string
was tied on the bearing wire by a long loop 30 by means
of the introduction device 1 mounted on the pin 6 and after
the passage of the rope through the sleeve 3 and the body 2 of the knotter by pivoting in its lower position, the fork 4 brings the rope to the gripping device 27 attached to the chain feeder 26, this gripping device passing
the rope in order to perform another hook. When the
rope was fed to the chain feeder 26, the
<EMI ID = 10.1> the device is ready to perform another operation. The aim of the fork 24 is to control the work carried out by the device in the space occupied by the transverse bearing wires of the hop framework.
