<EMI ID=1.1>

"Mechanical fixing of two pieces of sheet metal and its production process"
The invention relates to a mechanical fixing of two pieces of sheet metal and to a method of producing this fixing, one of the parts which must be joined to the other comprising at least one hole and the other, at least one. tenon intended to be inserted into the hole.
The direct riveting of sheets placed perpendicular to one another is known, the riveting of the
<EMI ID = 1.1>
serée in the other can be carried out in various ways.
For example, the tongue in place can be folded down or twisted transversely. The known joints are however only suitable for assemblies in which the space required for riveting or torsion tools is sufficient. Known junctions can, for example, only be used when the back of the sheet metal part in the hole in which the tongue is to be inserted is accessible to the necessary tool.
This method of assembly often has drawbacks, for example for switches, because the manufacturing cycle of an entire system must be established according to the prior assembly required for the mentioned fixings.
This operating mode in certain cases prohibits rational manufacturing. The known fasteners cannot be used either when the elements to be inserted into a part are made of very thin sheet metal and have a very small section due to bends or notches in the part, these fasteners not being capable of withstand the forces produced by riveting or deformation of the tabs.
The invention therefore relates to a binding of the type mentioned, as well as to a method for its production, which does not have the aforementioned drawbacks of known junctions. In particular, when the sheet metal parts have been inserted one into the other, the remaining narrow space allows the tools to be positioned optimally for the realization of the junction according to the technical criteria and therefore
<EMI ID = 2.1> simple means and within the framework of a rational production allow the realization of a stable mechanical fixation.
According to an essential feature of the invention, the hole can be narrowed after insertion of the post
so as to ensure a fastening which at least secures
rooms.
The binding of the invention allows in a large
able to adapt to manufacturing requirements the production and machining of sheet metal parts to be assembled.
Among the advantages of the invention, it is necessary to mention in particular its very wide field of application in
the most diverse branches.
The many possibilities of conformation of
sheet metal parts and therefore the production of the attachment by embossing allow the implementation of the method of the invention by very different means and can be
adopted in a determined manner according to each particular case.
It is thus possible to give the hole a
shape such as the edge of the piece of sheet metal which delimits it
has a very deep roughness, like the tenon of
the other piece of sheet metal, so as to obtain not only
a mechanical junction, but also a junction by complementarity of shapes between the hole and the tenon.
According to an essential feature of the process.
of the invention, the holes undergo narrowing after
placement of tenons.
The invention will be described in more detail with reference to
