Abstract
In the title process the microorganism yielding lysine is not inhibited by lysine or its analogues (esp. by S-(2-aminoethyl)-L-cysteine) but requires serine, proline adanine, micotenamide, pantothenic acid, thiamine guanine, hypoxanthine or Vit B12 for growth. Thus Brevibacterium lactofermentum Y 108 (ATCC 21798) cultivated in a medium contg. glucose, (NH4)2SO4.Mg SO4 Fe++ and Mn++ ions, thiamine and biotin gave L-lysine (I) at rates of 4.1g/dl.
