Abstract
Process for preparing L-isoleucine (I) by culture of isoleucine-producing microorganisms in media contg. leucine (II). Suitable microorganisms: Of the genera Corynebacterium, Brevebacterium, Achromobacter, Pseudomonas, Serratia, Micrococcus, Streptomyces, Bacillus, Aerobacter, Esherichia, and Microbacterium. Especially Corynebacterium glutamicum, Brevibacterium ammoniagenes, Achromobacter cycloclastes, Paracolobacterium coliforme, Streptomyces antibioticus and Bacillus megatherium. Method. By aerobic culture in media contg. sources of C, N and minerals, vitamins and bases at 10-50 deg. The medium may also contain alpha-amino-butyric acid or threonine with leucine 50 mu g-20 mg/ml. The I is isolated from the filtered culture medium by adsorption on a cation exchange resin followed by elution with dil H2SO4. Enrichment of human and animal food.
