O2 at very high temps. and pref. at atomos. press, the catalyst comprising a metal cpd. of a polyacyloxalic acid bisamidrazone, esp. the Cu, Ni, Ce, Co, Pb and/or Ca cpds. and having improved activity and selectivity. Thus p-diisopropylbenzene is oxidised to p-diiso-propylbenzene dihydro peroxide in 49% yield.
