Abstract
Inserter is driven by a sector lever which oscillates, under the action of a rod and jointed levers, during 2/3 of the working time and is at rest for the remainder. Pref. a support can reciprocate across the fabric along the reed, and is a rigid rod or a flexible strip with a pre-tensile member for the weft at its end. It moves for 2/3 of the time, with the reed in open shed position, and is stationary while the reed is in beating-up position. The rod is driven synchronously from the main loom drive.
