Abstract
The fuse's firing pin includes a tubular pin which slides axially into the fuse body. Balls, housed in the pin, are moved outwards by a sliding sleeve. They bear on a bevelled shoulder and lock the firing pin. They are pushed radially inwards after firing when the sleeve moves backwards along the shell.
