Polymers of 2-(N-acyl)amino ethyl (meth) acrylate Homo- or copolymers contg units of formula: (where R1 is H or CH3; R1 and R2 independently are H, CH3, C2H5, C3H7, C4H9) are prepd. by polymerising a 2-(N-acryl)-aminoethyl-(meth)acrylate of formula: presence of at least one vinyl cpd. Polymers are water soluble. Used to replace gelatine in medicine capsules. Also used in pigment dispersion, dyeing or photosensitive materials.
