contacts 4 so that the breaking arc is attracted towards this wall 3, the last side having sE! face 5, facing the contacts 4, flat and being substantially perpendicular to a plane passing, on the one hand, through the axis of rotation 6 of the movable member? of the circuit breaker and, on the other hand, by a point of the fixed member 8 of said circuit breaker.

The wall 5 improves the breaking capacity of the circuit breaker by dividing the breaking arc and cooling it thanks to the absorption of calories by the metallic mass of said wall j.

The wall 3 of the circuit breaker 1, shown in FIG. 2, comprises three sides and is arranged so as to. frame the arc zone 2, the edges of the wall 5 being substantially perpendicular to the aforementioned plane passing through the axis of rotation of the movable member of the circuit breaker and through a point of the fixed member of the latter. The faces 5, 9 and 10 of the sides of the wall 3, facing the contacts 4, are plane.

This last embodiment of the wall 'makes it possible to increase, with respect to the wall shown in FIG. 1 and without increasing the size of the circuit breaker, the metal mass of the wall, thus ensuring the circuit breaker a better division of the cutting arc and better cooling of the latter by an increased absorption of calories thanks to the greater metal mass of the wall 5.

It should be understood that the invention is by no means limited to the specific embodiments and that many modifications can be made thereto without departing from the scope of the present patent.

One could in particular provide walls, as shown in Figures 1 and, whose faces 5, 9 and 10 are deformed, for example, corrugated.
