Si l'entraînement ze faisait ailiers;

This second operation has already been carried out by means of conical centering studs, penetrating into openings corresponding to the bars. This arrangement does not however give satisfaction, because the resistance offered by the tension to the penetration of the stud easily produces a giant lifting of the bars, while the cone of the stud must be able to cause a sufficient displacement of the bar to allow catching up. the strong elongation which the chains undergo with the use * This is contrairc to the condition of being able to overcome the tension to which laws chains are subjected, which can only be achieved, in effect, only a relatively sharp cone, and not without a great wear.
It is also necessary that the distances of the bar holes and the position of the studs are very precisely determined, which creates certain difficulties, not to mention that the assembly works in faulty conditions, due to the presence of dust from the worked cardboard.
Have we already tried against? the bars by acting on the links of the chains; but the game and the foul, as well as the uplifting of the latter are other causes of inaccuracy.

The same applies to blocking the control wheels $ in order to immobilize certain links or the bar itself in their teeth *
The subject of the invention is a device ensuring the centering of gripper bars conveying sheet pieces worked in a press in which said bars are carried by chains) this device eliminating the drawbacks mentioned above, by the fact that 'it is characterized by stops which come to be placed on the path of the extracts from the bars, in the immediate vicinity of at least one of their stations, and against which the grippers cause a predetermined part of said ends to be pressed,
by moving for that the $ bars of a quantity of which the chain, normally stretched, is obliged to give way.

The part of the device shown a, a: 1 to 3 consists of a margin tablet seen in c;:, j; u transverse, and oscillating around a: pivot 2 under Inaction of a lever and a control rod 3.
This shelf carries front cleats 4, @ finely adjustable position, and pousenirs 5, intended to cause the opening of the clamps of the bars driven between two chains; one of which, 6, is visible.
The shelf 1 also carries, at each end, a cam 7; against which rests a galat 8 that an elastic lama 9 connects a sleeve 10, integral with a lever ending at one end 303 by a boa 11, and at the opposite end by an elongated hole in which a roller 12 secured to an elbow lever 13.
This lever, which rotates around an axis 14, penetrates into a rod 15, axially sliding} and the upper end of which ends in a flat 16.
A spring 17 seeks to return the assembly to the rest position of FIG. 1, that is to say rod 15 lowered and spout 11 rejected backwards, so as to allow free passage for a bar driven by the chains.
But as soon as such a bar reaches the

position 18 of fig. 2, that is to say comes up? between the extension of the flat part of the rod 15 and the spout 11, the connecting rod 3 brings the margin shelf 1 back to a horizontal position, which has the effect of making the front cleats 4 penetrate into the corresponding notches of the bar (see fig. 3), while the pushers open the grippers by lifting the spring blades 19 from the bar and the cam 7 pushes the roller 8.
This results in both the lifting of the rods 15 and the oscillation of the openings 11 in the direction of the flats 16 of the latter. The barri [; is tightened against these organs and takes positive support against the flats forming stops.

It is also evident that the dearit mechanism must be capable of overcoming the tension communicated to the chains to allow the slight retreat of the bar @@ 18 ensuring its application against the flats 16.
These, forming largely dimensioned stops, are not subject to any wear and will ensure

always a correct and well-determined petition of the bars *
The margin station which we have just described is designated by I in the overall figure (fig. 6).
From there, the bar goes to the workstation Il $ in pa ut between the fixed upper plate 20 and the movable inner plate 21 of the preses, controlled by knee pads 22.
Rod 1.shows in detail how the bar is centered again when reaching this station
Taking place at 18 ', immediately behind the movable inner plate 21, the bar is caught at each end between a key 23 of the plate and a spout 24 of a lever positively actuated by means of a connecting rod. control 25 and an elastic link 26; this beak being normally thrown back to allow free passage for the bars.
The plan view of the freeze; shows without further the position of * hate 6; of the bar 18 ', of the plate 21, of the key 23, of the beak 24 and of the shaft 27, common to the clamping levers involving the two ends of the bar and' supported by consoles integral with the plate.
It is necessary, in fact, that the key and the clamp, 'raise and lower with the plate, to force the bar to accompany this movement.
At this station as at the first, the bars are supported in a positive manner, against a large surface.
It is evident that the recoil obtained from the bar
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
clamps must be slightly larger in station II than in station I, so that the section of chain included between these two stations can relax very slightly *
It will always be the easiest, if the drive of the chains is done in I by means of wheels 28, the chains being tensioned in 29 by springs 30,
If the training was wingers;
it could not result, if necessary, that the need to reverse the action of the device described, in the sense that the stop would come to be placed behind the bar instead of in front and the pressing member in front instead of behind.
The device described concerns the position of the ends of the bars in the direction of transport.
It can also be interesting to assure? the exact bridging in a direction transverse to the sound of the transport.
In the embodiment described., This is obtained at the two stations by passing the bar between a fixed stop 31 of the blti of the press and a shoe 32 subjected to the Inaction of a spring 33 and exerting a lateral thrust on the bar. forcing it to rest against the stop 31.
